The Migrant Skills Register
“Allow us to fine-tune the skills necessary for migrants to find jobs.”
We are a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that provides skill education for migrants as well as job opportunities based on the migrant’s skills.
This project has been funded by the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS), managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS). This project/publication reflects the views only of the author, and the MCVS cannot be held responsible for the content or any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
We have created a skills register which interviews and identifies migrants, and records their skills with the intention of creating useful resource for potential employers needing those skills, and to give the migrants an opportunity to work.
We also provide workshops / personal development training for migrants to aid and nurture their skills.
Many immigrants are subjected to discrimination and underpayment by employers who are simply not aware of the skills of their workers. Those who have asylum status “rejected” are allowed to remain in Malta for Humanitarian Reasons but are excluded from the job market and can not register with ETC. We believe that with help of this platform many will have their skills registered and will get higher chance to get jobs according to their skills and get over the poverty line they live.
